Come with us as we follow Jasmine, a fictional yet ambitious young professional who leverages personal coaching services<\/a> to become a \u201cnext level\u201d leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jasmine\u2019s Story<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jasmine started working as a salesperson at a hardwood lumber manufacturer three months ago. Management at the company is thrilled with her performance so far, and they see potential in her as a future sales manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To set Jasmine up for success, her bosses enrolled her in a coaching program. Jasmine worked one-on-one with a personal development coach to identify areas of her personality and behavior to focus on before considering a larger role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confidence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One of the major areas in which Jasmine struggled was confidence. While she\u2019s smart and intuitive, she had a hard time gaining the courage to push back with clients and stick up for her coworkers when appropriate. This mentorship, coupled with her monthly one-on-one coaching sessions, helped Jasmine put her personality in perspective and inspired her to self-reflect. Immensely focused on her work, Jasmine rarely reached out to peers, which hindered her ability to build personal relationships with them. Through coaching, Jasmine learned more about how her personality informed her actions (or, in this case, lack thereof). With these insights in mind, she developed a personalized strategy: she would try to learn one new thing about one of her coworkers every week. Over time, she became more comfortable approaching and making conversation with coworkers, asking about their families and hobbies. By embracing her natural curiosity, Jasmine created more meaningful relationships with others in her company, setting her up for future success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vulnerability<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although Jasmine was excellent at her job, she could be closed off at times\u2014afraid to put herself or her opinions out there, especially if there was a chance she\u2019d fail or look silly. But Jasmine knew that to effectively manage others and truly connect with customers and coworkers, she needed to learn how to put herself on the line. To work on this, she wrote weekly reflections identifying times she could have allowed herself to be more vulnerable. These assignments helped her recognize patterns of behavior, which led to improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
